The opening of our stadium is on the horizon and in order to continue to make progress, we are pleased to announce our Supporters Trust has launched a Crowdfunder to support us in providing community changing rooms for our 3G pitch. We are proud to announce that Sport England have already pledged their support.
The interest we have received from the local community regarding the club’s imminent move to Sawston has been phenomenal. So we need your help to raise the money we need to give them and our own teams a safe space to use.
We are in need of a community changing facility that will be suitable for all. With the main stadium currently not open and no significant revenue currently coming in, we need help to raise significant funds so we can provide changing facilities for those wishing to use the 3G community pitch before the remainder of the site is open. Without this, it’ll not be possible to give people access to this much-needed facility.
We will be moving into our new 3000-capacity stadium and 3G pitch later this year. However, the project has taken a lot longer than planned and cost exponentially more, due to various factors such as Covid, Brexit and supply issues, but also issues on site that we didn’t envisage. Therefore, we cannot afford to build the originally planned separate block of changing rooms solely for the 3G and community grass pitches and now need your help!
We are creating a hub for community sports, this will also bring people together and improve community health through various events, groups, and businesses. The 3G pitch and changing rooms will be available to all, creating more activities and groups to enhance everyone's physical and social well-being.
With the changing rooms in place, we can also look forward to creating some grass pitches that will also be available for the local community and our junior teams.
Because of the unique way that crowdfunding works, individuals and companies can take advantage of the many rewards available in exchange for their generosity. We have teamed up with local businesses to provide services in exchange for donations to the crowd funder.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target and make this project a reality.
1. Pledge your support for our new facility. Bag yourself some goodies in return for your generosity by claiming pledge rewards.
2. Spread the word. Share our project far and wide on your social media pages, email, and text to tell the world to get behind The Lilywhites.
3. If you want to run your own fundraiser to support us, maybe a sponsored activity or similar.
4. If you run a local business, you could offer pledge rewards that encourage others to support the club. These could include gifts, meals, goodie boxes, MOT's anything!
