Thank you Jamie

Following a disappointing start to the season, Cambridge City FC can confirm that Jamie Cureton has been relieved of his duties as First Team Manager.

Jamie joined the club at the start of the 2024/25 season. After a difficult start, he led the team on a strong run that saw us close to mounting a play-off challenge, ultimately ending with a mid table finish.

With the clear aim of pushing for the play-offs this season, the club backed Jamie in the summer to strengthen the squad. However, an early exit from the FA Cup to lower-league opposition for the second successive season, combined with a disappointing run of results in the league, has left us in the bottom four with four points from a possible 21.

The Board has therefore taken the difficult decision to make a change. We believe that, if we are to achieve our ambition of securing a play-off place, it is imperative to act quickly and bring in a new manager who can offer a fresh approach for the remainder of the campaign.

The club will be aiming to bring in a new manager as quickly as possible, however in the meantime our thanks to  U18s Manager Shaun Sowden and Head of Youth Development Neil Midgeley who will will take charge of the team in the run up to Saturdays home match against  Witham Town.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Jamie, along with Assistant Manager Jim Duggan, for their hard work and commitment during their time with the club and We wish them all the very best for the future.
