What a season 2023-24 has been, what could the next one bring! Now that all the boys teams
have finish we can look back on 2023-24.
This season culminated at the weekend when the u12s played Haverhill in the Cup and won on Saturday, then our U13s went to The New Croft Stadium and played Histon in the Champions vs Champions of EJA U13s and ran away with the trophy. Two fantastic seasons for both teams especially as the newest to the club this season. All the teams have had a brilliant season on the pitch!
Shaun Harrington U12s manager shared a few words : -
We should start by saying that the boys have represented the club with great pride, respect and humility. Collectively and individually there has been huge progress with their development. This has been aided by regular player-focused training sessions twice a week and an additional games programme (in addition to the league campaign) which has seen the boys challenged in fixtures with Spurs, Norwich City, Ipswich Town, Peterborough United and Cambridge United.Â
Â
Whilst both myself and James don't use results as the most important measure of the players development, the team have produced on that front also by winning the pre-Christmas league (winning every game), taking runners up spot in the post Christmas league (D1, L1, winning all others) and culminating in winning the Cup. The boys can feel rightly proud of their achievements.Â
Â
Focus turns to the 24/25 season where the challenge of EJA football and 11v11 awaits. The future is bright, the future is Black and White!Â
The boys have gathered again this season for their end of Season Awards at The White Lion in Sawston. We would like to thank Mark and his staff for hosting us as well as Steve Plumb & Martin Cullum for being behind the BBQ all afternoon.
We would also like to thank all the fantastic sponsors that have supported the teams this season, thank you :-
Brendan Norris
We would also like to thank our excellent Managers and Coaches across the 5 teams who work tirelessly to sort training and matches throughout the season. And to Parents and families who have to travel around the county and beyond for training and matches.
Our U15s & U14s headed off to Holland for a tournament over the Easter Weekend and it sounds like they all had a fabulous time on and off the pitch, it was funny to hear Mark and John share some 'funny' awards around the theme of Mr Men... Who was Mr Clumsy, Mr Bump etc.
