Retained: James Philp

Here's a weekend treat Lilywhites as we can confirm that our popular gloveman James Philp is remaining with us next season.

Having agreed terms, Philpsy commented: "Staying at Cambridge City was an easy decision for me. I’ve really enjoyed being part of the club and I believe there’s a lot more to achieve. The support from everyone around the club has been brilliant, and I’m excited to keep working hard and helping the team push for promotion."

Manager Mickey Spillane is also delighted that we’ll have a familiar figure between the sticks next season: "Philpsy is everything that we want at this club; a role model to all our younger players, he absolutely bleeds Cambridge City and you won’t find a better goalkeeper at this level, so I’m thrilled he will continue to be our No.1 next season."
