Randells signs on til 2027

What a couple of weeks it's been for Skipper Jayden Randell. Grabbing the goal that set us on the way against Takeley FC that earned him the Man of the Match award and then being chosen as Fans Player of the month for December.

We are delighted to now announce that Jayden has now signed a new contract with the club that will see him remain here at Cambridge City FC until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Since joining the club in August 2024, the City skipper has been a model of consistency and commitment, making 66 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals. His availability, attitude and leadership have made him a key figure within the squad.

As captain, Randell has led by example both on and off the pitch, setting standards, driving performance levels and playing a big role in shaping the culture around the first team. His decision to extend his stay is a significant boost as City continue to build with stability and purpose.

Speaking after signing, Randell said he is proud to commit his future to the club and excited about what lies ahead, highlighting his belief in the direction City are heading and the group being developed.

He was also quick to add his admiration and thanks to the City Supporters "The fans have been immense since I got here. The best in the division in my opinion. They turn up in numbers week in, week out home or away and I love it when we can send them home happy with 3 points"

The club is delighted to secure the long-term services of our captain and we're all looking forward to seeing him continue to lead Cambridge City through the coming seasons.

Jayden Randell is a fantastic player who could easily Play at a higher level. He would prefer to get to that level with City. It will be a pleasure to share that journey with him. Jayden also has brilliant family support.

Totally agree with BC Jayden is a stand out player for City. Solid in defence a real threat at set pieces & a leader on the pitch. Brilliant news.

Another long standing fan from the mid 60s. Jay Reminds me of Jack McGuigan a real City warrior !!!
