Last weekend marked a huge milestone for Cambridge City as our Amputee Football team competed in their first 7-a-side competition for the season.
Taking on AFAS, Chelsea and Everton in a four-team tournament, the squad faced an incredibly tough test against some of the most established sides in the game.
Results:
AFAS 0–3 Cambridge City
Everton 3–0 Cambridge City
Chelsea 3–0 Cambridge City
The day started positively with a fantastic 3–0 victory over AFAS — a historic first competitive win for the team and a brilliant way to announce ourselves in the competition.
With injuries limiting us to just seven players, no substitutes available, the squad knew it would be a demanding day.
In the final match, the challenge grew even tougher when we lost a player to cramp with five minutes remaining. Despite being down to six, the players continued to push, work and represent the badge with pride right to the final whistle.

Manager, Duncan Rumblelow said
“What a start for Cambridge City FC’s Amputee Team💙⚽.
New team, first time playing together, injuries leaving us short on numbers — and the players still delivered 👏. A 3-0 win over AFAS (Scotland combined side) with TJ YATES scoring twice and Connor CRUISE also adding his name to the scoresheet. Two tough games then followed against Everton and Chelsea where we matched both sides for long spells in both games.
So much character, fight and quality shown. Massive foundations to build on 🔥⚽️”
Next fixtures are Saturday 21st March, all matches played on the same day in Crewe.
This is just the beginning for Cambridge City Amputee FC, foundations are being built, standards are being set, and belief is growing.
