Cambridge City are delighted to confirm that First Team Manager Mickey Spillane has signed a three-year contract with the club.

The agreement has been in progress for some time and reflects a shared vision that dates right back to Mickey’s interview. From the outset, he spoke passionately about wanting to build something lasting at Cambridge City, setting out a clear ambition to be part of the club’s long-term future. The Board highlighted this commitment as one of the key reasons he was offered the role.
Formalising that partnership has taken time, but both parties have always been aligned on the direction of travel. The new contract now provides the stability needed to continue developing the squad, strengthening the pathway, and building momentum on and off the pitch.
Spillane, who has overseen a strong period of performance this season, says he is “loving every minute” of his time at City and feels fully invested in the club’s journey.
“From day one I felt this was the right place for me. There’s real potential here and a real determination to move the club forward. I’m delighted to commit my future to Cambridge City. I’ve enjoyed working with the players and staff, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together over the next few years.”
Chairman, Kevin Satchell added:
“Mickey made it clear at interview that he wanted to build something with us, not just manage a team for a season. That long-term intent really stood out. We’ve had total confidence in him from the start, and this contract simply reflects that shared ambition. His leadership, connection with the players and the culture he’s building have been outstanding.”
Cambridge City look forward to the continued journey ahead with Mickey at the helm as preparations for the rest of the season continue.
City are at home to Brightlingsea Regent this coming weekend, Saturday 13th December for our final home game before Christmas.
