City make hard work of welcome victory
Nov 10, 2018, 17:23
Cambridge City 1 Kempston Rovers 0
An own goal was all that divided the sides as City recorded a welcome win following two straight defeats. City were guilty of not taking their chances and only got an advantage in the 67th minute when Kempston were reduced to ten men. From the resulting free-kick, Adam Capel forced a defender to put through his own net. Kempston showed more verve with ten on the pitch and might have grabbed a leveler late on, but struck the foot of the post, much to the relief of the home support...

Then came the dismissal of Jack Wilkinson after only 23 minutes, and the award of a penalty, duly despatched that left City with plenty to do. They did rally and Joe Robinson equalised just before the break, but when a simple long ball five minutes after the interval released Ty Deacon to put Aylesbury back in front, City couldn't recover again, and although they applied plenty of pressure, they couldn't force another equaliser...

Oct 27, 2018, 17:17
Cambridge City 1 Basford Utd 2
