Colney Heath 0 : 0 Cambridge City

Despite extending their unbeaten run to eight games and maintaining their position at the top of the league, Cambridge City Ladies felt it was two points dropped following their 0-0 draw away at Colney Heath. The hosts appeared to want a draw from the outset with very little to offer going forward but a determined and disciplined display in midfield and defence made it difficult for City. The first half was very scrappy with play being broken up through a number of fouls and delays and the game never really got going despite City playing with the wind and attacking down the slope.

City looked more threatening in the second half and dominated possession but were unable to find that bit of skill or clear cut chance in and around the Colney goal. Despite a flurry of corners and a couple of goal mouth scrambles the breakthrough didnít come and the Lilywhites had to settle for a point.

Another away trip next week when City travel to Brentwood hoping to bring home maximum points to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Cambridge City v Cambourne United

A depleted City squad hosted Cambourne United looking to add to their impressive performances this season. Having played in a Futsal tournament the previous Sunday, it had clearly brushed off on the girls as they moved the ball about very smoothly and converted the chances they had. Some great saves from our 'rotating' goalkeepers meant that City Girls completed another impressive team performance and will hopefullyt take that into next week's league game.
