The Ladies Development squad clinched the S-Tech Premier league title with two games to spare when they beat Fulbourn Bluebirds by four goals to nil at fortress Trinity.

City started uncharacteristically slowly. Fulbourn therefore had more of the possession and looked the more dangerous in the first twenty minutes. The first clear cut chance of the game fell to Marie Stubbings who outran the City defence but Hannah Lock in the City goal stood up well and saved with her feet. City gradually came in to the game and almost went ahead on the half hour mark when Ellie Cullum was put through but Sam Isaacson in the Fulbourn goal saved well diving to her left. Five minutes later Ellie Cullum was put through again by Emily Reed and this time made no mistake side footing the ball in to the bottom left hand corner. The goal relaxed City and they had their best patch of the first half and were now winning most of the second balls in midfield. Just before half time City made it 2-0 when Bronte Rapley hit a fierce twenty five yard free kick over the wall and over the outstretched hands of their keeper.

City started the second half as they finished the first on the front foot and made it 3-0 after 52 minutes. Left back Rachel Littlewood hit a great diagonal ball over the top for Megan Tonks to run on to and drive the ball in to the top right hand corner from twenty yards. Fulbourn did come back in to the game in patches and almost scored when they hit the crossbar but Amy Ozakpinar quickly cleared the danger. However City were now generally in control of the game with Freya Standing and Megan Tonks causing the Fulbourn defence lots of problems up front. City completed the scoring in the last minute of the game when Rachel Littlewood bundled the ball home from a trade mark Rachel Pearce corner.

POM Rachel Littlewood who was solid at the back and also got forward at every opportunity.

The ladies now have a chance to complete the treble this season when they take on Cambridge University in the league cup final on Wednesday 8th May kick off 7.30pm at the Glassworld stadium Histon.
