With both sides cemented in the relegation positions there was little to play for except pride and an avoidance of the wooden spoon. City were the worthy winners.

St Neots kicked off with the wind at their backs and the early play was mostly confined to the middle of the park.

City opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Victor Garcia took a quick free kick just inside the visitors half and found an unmarked Ben Steele out on the right. Ben sped down the wing and fed a clever back kick to Bobby Freil whose cross to the far post found Harry Farrow who slotted it home.

4 Minutes later they came close to a second goal when the visitor's defence failed to clear a free kick from the right and Harry Farrow's snap shot was saved by the diving keeper.

At the other end a low 30 yard shot saw City keeper Joe Isaacson diving to his right to push it round the post for a corner.

City's second goal came in the 30th minute, again it started with a Victor Garcia free kick from the halfway line to Ben Steele out on the right whose cross found Harry Farrow. Harry headed it down and George Rayner put it in the net.

Just before half time, Jude White did well down the left wing and from the byline crossed for an outstretched George Rayner to make the half time score City 3 St. Neots 0.

The second half saw the visitors side upping their game and City lacking some of the sparkle we had seen in the first 45 minutes.

Both sides had chances. A 20 yard rising shot from Harry Farrow was pushed away for a corner and St. Neots were awarded an indirect freekick well inside the City penalty area, but the City defensive wall did it's job.

In the 63rd Minute indecision and an air of casualness in the City defence allowed St. Neots to pull a goal back.

The invigorated visitors pressed to reduce the arrears against a tiring City side, but the City defense, with Goalkeeper Joe Isaacson playing no small role, held firm.

In the final minute of normal time George Rayner slipped through the St. Neots defense and slipped the ball past the onrushing keeper. Harry Farrow, alone in the 6 yard box, tapped the ball into the now undefended goal to make the final score: City 4 St.Neots 1.

A welcome back-to-back win for a rapidly improving City side.
