It was a well deserved win for the Development Team against a team that beat them 4 - 1 earlier in the season.

City kicked off and launched the first attack and continued to have most of the early play, although they were looking a little shaky in defence.

They came close to opening the scoring when good work by George Rayner and Harry Farrow resulted in a low shot from Chris Racher out on the left. The keeper kept it out and Harry Farrow got to the rebound only to see his shot saved on the goal line by a defenders outstretched boot.

A hook from Morgan Cogman-Wright found Chris Racher whose cross was whipped of the boot of George Rayner by the keeper.

It was a fast paced game with play swinging from end to end, but it was City who scored first when in the 25th minute they were awarded a penalty after a handball in the area. Harry Farrow took the kick and gave City the well deserved lead.

City continued to press. Ben Steele and Bobby Freil were a constant threat down the right wing and Chris Racher was getting through more than his share of the work, both in attack and tracking back to reinforce the defence.

Further City goals looked on the cards. but with 5 minutes until half time City had a somnolent spell allowing the visitors to level the score at 1 - 1 for half time.

The second half opened with both sides creating chances, but City were a little off the pace they showed in the first half.

Harrison Horton and Will Evans were doing Sterling work in midfield and City gradually started to take the upper hand.

In the 65th minute, Harry Farrow showed his pace and broke into the box, held the ball up and tapped it across for the onrushing George Rayner to slot home for City's second goal.

Three minutes later Ben Steele, Bobby Friel and Harry Farrow worked well together, the final ball from Bobby Friel being deflected for a corner. From the corner it was Bobby Friel who latched onto the attempted clearance and lashed the ball past the keeper to make it City 3.

Play started to get a little feisty as the visitors fought to get back into the game, but the City youngsters showed an increasing maturity, stood their ground, and continued to threaten, stretching the visitors defence until the final whistle.
