EVO-STIK League South Div. One Central: North Leigh 2 Cambridge City 4

City's unbeaten run stretched to six games as they overcame struggling North Leigh, Ebby Nelson-Addy scoring twice in a solid win, although there was a little scare in the final minutes.

As with last week City found themselves behind early on. Only nine minutes had elapsed when George Seacole played a measured pass to set up winger Roger James who finished with a fine strike past Liam Gooch.

City hit back twenty minutes later, Lewis Whitehead notching his first goal for the Lilywhites as he curled home an excellent effort.

It took until just before the break before City managed to nudge in front and another clinical strike was on show as Ebby Nelson-Addy controlled the ball on the edge of the area before sending it flying past Tom Molloy and into the top corner.

City looked to have put the game beyond their hosts just after the hour mark when pressure from Ryan Sharman forced Daniel Olivera to loop a header over his own keeper to put City firmly in control.

That really should have been that, but City don't do things the easy way and conceded a penalty with five minutes left when Noah Alabi was felled. Jack Tutton stepped up to score and set up the chance of a point for the home side.

Happily though, City avoided a nervous last few minutes when Nelson-Addy netted his second of the afternoon, taking advantage of a quickly taken free kick to put the result beyond doubt.
