Getting ready for the new season!

Last Sunday afternoon, City Ladies entertained Luton Town in a friendly pre-season fixture, whilst the City under 15s played hosts to Rushden and Diamonds in the morning. Both fixtures were chosen to give the City teams a meaningful challenge and so it turned out to be. Luton, who finished a very credible fifth position in the South East Division One League last season (the league above City) eventually ran out 3 - 1 winners, however our Ladies pushed them all the way and Luton had to work extremely hard to claim the victory. It was a good match to watch.

A smiling Lauren Tomlinson is congratulated for scoring......with her right foot!

Prior to the Ladies fixture, the under 15s had welcomed Northants side Rushden and Diamonds to Trinity. Although both sides were missing some players, the spectators still witnessed some exciting, free flowing football. Each team enjoyed periods where they were in control and each team had to fight back having fallen behind at various stages. This was the first pre-season fixture for both outfits and it turned out to be a very worthwhile encounter all round. You can normally count on goals in matches such as this! Rushed and Diamonds claimed the victory, scoring six in an eleven goal thriller. A friendly, but competitive match - well done to both teams.

City would like to thank Luton Town and Rushden and Diamonds for making the trip to Cambridgeshire and we wish them well in the forthcoming season.

The Ladies start their 2018/19 South East Region Women's Premier League campaign this coming Sunday (19th) with a trip to Peterborough Northern Star. All are welcome to come along and support them (home and away) if you're looking for something to do on a Sunday afternoon.

All the City girls teams kick off their season in the S-Tech sponsored Cambs leagues on Saturday 8th September.

Arsenal Soccer School came to City

On Monday and Tuesday CCLGFC hosted an Arsenal Soccer School at Trinity Old Field.

On each day, around 30 girls enjoyed the sessions prepared by coaches from the most successful Women's Club in England. Well done to all who made it such a success.
