Well deserved Laura!

Congratulations to our very own Laura Mills who recently scooped the Cambs FA Young Volunteer of the Year Award. This is a well deserved prize, with the FA recognising all the work that Laura does for local football, including chairing the Cambs FA Youth Council and also running the hugely successful City Wildcats programme for young girls. Well done Laura - City are very proud of you. The club are also very pleased that you will be donning the Lilywhite shirt again for the Ladies next season. Always great to have a former England international player on board!

Arsenal Summer School coming to City

The Club are pleased to announce that we have been chosen to host a two day Arsenal Soccer School for 7-14 year olds girls on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th August 2018. Come and have fun, make new friends and learn a few Arsenal tricks!

The event, operating between 10am and 3pm each day, will take place at the excellent facilities of Trinity College Sports Ground, Grange Road, Cambridge, CB3 9AA.

The sessions will be split into age related groups:
a) 7, 8 and 9 year olds.
b) 10 and 11 year olds.
c) 12, 13 and 14 year olds

This is certain to be a very popular event so make sure you don't miss out.

Ladies getting ready for new season

The Ladies teams are now well into their pre-season training programme with several new talented individuals having signed during the close season. These will be formally announced in the very near future. The Eastern Region Women's Football League (Premier Division) kicks off on Sunday 19th August. However, before then, the club have lined up some pre-season friendly matches - the first one is against Norwich City Ladies at Trinity Old Field, Grange Rd, Cambridge on Sun 29th July, kick off 2pm. All welcome. With such quality in the squad, confidence is high for the forthcoming campaign.

Local Building Society helping local groups

As is always the case, the club are constantly trying to raise funds so that we can provide for the Ladies and Girls teams. We have recently made it through to the next round of The Cambridge Building Society Cash for the Community Initiative. A big thank you to everyone who voted on line to get us to this point. The Society have generously donated 12000 for local clubs, groups and organisations within the community. On Monday 23rd July, we, together with other groups, will be featured in the Cambridge News. From Tuesday 24th July through to Friday 10th August, tokens will be included each day in all copies of the Cambridge News. We need to collect as many of these as possible and send them to Cambridge Building Society (details will be in the paper). The more tokens we send in for Cambridge City Ladies and Girls FC, the more money we get! So make sure you buy the paper during those dates. Get collecting and get posting.....please! And spread the word too.
