Cup Win One - Ladies

Focus on the Cup!

Another chapter was written in the City Ladies success story last Thursday when they lifted the County Cup against local rivals Cambridge United Women - and they did it in style too. A landmark 3-1 victory which hopefully goes a long way in re-establishing the Lilywhites as the dominant force in local Ladies football.

Cup Win Two - Under 14s

Under 14s - League and Cup Double Winners

Within 24 hours of the Ladies success, the Under 14s made their way to St Neots FC where they faced a talented ICA Sports team from Peterborough in their S-Tech sponsored League Cup Final. Thanks to a brace from Yael Benjamin and a goal each from Katie Levatt and Amie Fullwood, the girls made sure that they lifted the silverware with an impressive 4 - 0 victory. This win added to the league title that they secured a couple of weeks ago. Great stuff!

Development

(Double Header)
March Town Utd 0 : 2 Cambridge City (1st match)
March Town Utd 0 : 2 Cambridge City (2nd match)

Development Team grabbing a bit of shade on the March Riviera

The Development Team made for the Fens on Sunday for a double header - their final match(es) of the season. Six points from the trip ensured that they cemented a very credible top four position in the league. Between the two games, Megan Tonks got herself three goals, whilst Bella Simmons popped up with the other. This team provides a great transitional platform for our talented girls to push for a place in the first team.

Under 13Bs

St Ives Rangers 0 : 1 Cambridge City

A superb goal from the edge of the box from Maddy Shanks was enough to secure all three points for City who were the visitors at St Ives on Saturday. A great way to finish the season - this was their 18th and final league game of the campaign. The Girl of the Match award was deservedly given to Evie White. Well done girls.

Under 12s

Yaxley 0 : 14 Cambridge City

Tournament success for the Under 12s

City travelled north to Yaxley on Saturday for their final league game of the season. A win would keep alive their hopes for the title. With that in mind, they made sure of their intentions with a resounding victory, putting in a great display. The result puts them top of the table. This coming Saturday the girls face Panthers in the League Cup Final at Newmarket, but they will also be receiving regular updates from Saffron Walden, where Netherton are the visitors in a league game that the Peterborough team must win to pinch the title from City. Let's hope for a double success on Saturday - it would be a fitting finale for the team who have improved so much during this campaign and who got into the habit of lifting silverware with their recent tournament win at the Abbey Stadium.

Under 12s (Under 13As this season)

A trip to the seaside!

Mixing with Royalty!

It was deja vu for this bunch of girls. They won their tournament in Minehead a couple of weeks ago and they've only gone and done it again - same competition but different location - this time at Bognor Regis. Could you not have got a bigger trophy?

Under 11s

Soham United v Cambridge City

Action from Soham

A depleted seven girl squad made the journey to the Fens to challenge newly formed Soham United - who have come on such a long way during the season. Great credit should go to Gaynor, Accia and Steve for the work that they have put in.

Soham did a good job in limiting the football that Cambridge could play in the first half, but despite this, the Lilywhite girls continued to press and they eventually got their rewards. In the second half, the match was a lot more open for City and they took advantage of this by scoring some lovely goals; completing the crossbar challenge a few times and finishing the league season on a huge high.

City have now finished their ‘league’ games. They remain unbeaten throughout the season which is an amazing achievement for the girls. The club are so proud of them, as they should be of themselves. The girls are now excited about their Cup Final on Saturday when they face Coton. Should be a good game.

Under 10s

March v Cambridge City

A great end to a great season. Well done under 10s!

The under 10s made the trip to March on Saturday for their last game of the 2017/18 season. With a great amount of effort and their usual good communication, the girls did extremely well and were very pleased with their victory. A short rest now before the summer tournaments begin!

City Ladies and Girls have done amazingly well this year in their respective League Cup competitions. The trophy cabinet is already starting to bulge. Why not nip over to Newmarket on Saturday and share in what we hope will be another bumper dose of City success
