City Ladies lift County Cup in style

The Amber women had no answers for the energy and team work that the City Ladies showed in a very entertaining encounter at Histon FC this evening. City produced a deserving 3-1 victory and but for missing a penalty and hitting the bar, it could so easily have been more!

After falling a goal behind against the run of play in the first half, City went in at half time knowing that the game was there for the taking. They came out after the break and delivered a superb display of high energy, focussed football that meant that they limited United to only one real chance in the second period.

The entire City squad and management team are to be applauded for their commitment and endeavour, but perhaps we really ought to mention a certain Bella Simmons, who produced a stand out performance (yet again) and rightly received the Player of the Match award, helped in some way I'm sure, by grabbing herself a match winning hat trick.

Bragging rights to the Lilywhites most definitely.

Time for celebration!
