Chatteris Town 2 City Development 1

With Chatteris Town, sitting bottom of the league and needing to win all their remaining games to escape the relegation zone, and City, in need of three points from their remaining games to guarantee they stayed out of the relegation zone, it was always going to be a battle, and it was the classic game of two halves.

The first half was all Cambridge City, who played some attractive passing football with Chatteris offering very little in the way of a threat.

It seemed only a matter of time until City took the lead. In fact, it took until the 44th minute when they awarded a much disputed corner on the right. Manuel Ramirez Viudes took the kick finding the head of fellow Spaniard Victor Munoz Garcia at the far post who headed home.

Half time: Chatteris Town 0 City Development 1.

It was a much improved Chatteris team who took the pitch in the second half, and they upped their game against a City side who were starting to look jaded. Two minutes into the half, from a corner, they evened the score.

Chatteris started to build momentum although City were still creating chances and the game looked as though it could go either way, but in the 61st minute Chatteris found the net again and took the lead.

The young City players were now showing the effects of playing too many games in too few days but, characteristically, continued to play some attractive football in a game that was becoming increasingly physical.

In the 61st minute, Manager Andy Jolley, who once more had had to take the goalkeeping role, had to be replaced and center back Zac Tyrrell saw the game out between the posts.

Captain Connor Loker and Josh Lowe were both instrumental in continuing the fight to the final whistle and both suffered some crunching tackles for their troubles, but without reward.

Final score: Chatteris Town 2 City Development 1

City Team: Andy Jolley, Sergio Filiu, Amin Relizani, Victor Garcia, Zac Tyrrell, Isaac Maynard, Connor Loker (C), Lewis Carter, Josh Lowe, Christian Carter, Manuel Viudes.
Subs: Harry Farrow, Karel Prince.
