League leaders West Wratting, together with a large following of supporters, arrived at Grange Rd knowing a win would guarantee them the league title, is but the City side, with Manager Andy Jolley again having to take the goalkeepers jersey, put in a more than creditable performance and made the visitors fight until the last minute.
The early exchanges saw both sides playing with intent and producing some attractive football.
The first real chance came in the 13th minute when a fine left-footed shot from Lewis Carter was pushed round the post for a corner by an outstretched hand from the diving West Wratting keeper.
3 Minutes later it was Neil Midgley who did all the work down the right wing and crossed for Harry Farrow to put City one goal up, but in the 19th minute the visitors equalised.
Both sides continued to press and look dangerous but the score was still 1 -1 at half time.
In the second half West Wratting upped the pressure but the City defence was standing firm although they could have fallen behind in the 65th minute, but Zac Tyrrell was there to clear off the line.
Although City were looking dangerous on the break, West Wratting continued to create the majority of the chances and finally got their 2nd goal in the 73rd minute.
The light was failing but not the City youngsters who fought for an equaliser and were unlucky when, as they were pressing forward, they left themselves exposed at the back and conceded a 3rd goal in injury time from the last kick of the game.
