With only 6 of last week's team available it was an unfamiliar starting line-up for the City side which was, understandably, a little disjointed in the early stages of the game.
For the first half hour the play was mainly in midfield with neither goal looking in danger, and the majority of City attacks stopped by the offside flag, but in the 30th minute James Hall was instrumental in setting Josh Lowe up to give City the opening goal.
Two minutes later it was the same duo, James Hall crossing from the right for Josh Lowe to finish and make it 2 - 0 for City.
The City side were now well in control of the game but a defensive mix up allowed Sawston to pull a goal back just before half time.
Half time: Sawston 1 City 2
Two minutes into the second half it was Josh Lowe crossing from the right for James Hall to score City's 3rd goal.
City continued to press, and continued to fall foul of the offside trap, but in the 65th minute, after good work by Isaac Maynard, veteran City substitute and 1st team Assistant Manager Neil Midgley put his name on the score sheet for City's 4th goal.
3 minutes late it was Neil Midgley and James Hall setting it up for Josh Lowe to score his 3rd and City's 5th goal and 4 minutes later, after good work by James Brown and Isaac Maynard on the right it was Josh Lowe again, his 4th and City's 6th goal.
Play was not all one-sided with Sawston taking every opportunity to try and get back into the game and, in the last 5 minutes, pulling 2 acrobatic finger-tip saves from Niall Conroy, playing his first game after coming back from injury, in the City goal.
An entertaining game played in a good spirit by both sides.
