In spite of playing 50 minutes with only 10 men, the Development Team earned a well deserved 3 points.
The City team, with defender Victor Garcia standing in as keeper for the day, created most of the early chances, but in the 32nd minute, against the run of play, the home team took an early lead.
Eight minutes later City suffered a further setback when Lewis Carter received a 2nd yellow card.
Half Time Score: University Press 1 City Development 0.
The second half saw the Development Team under some pressure, but their defence, with Ben Stamer having an outstanding game at centre back, and Victor Garcia giving a more than competent display between the posts, held firm.
In attack, the City always looked dangerous and came close several times before, in the 70th minute, after a pin-ball session in the six yard box, Harry Farrow managed to squeeze the ball in the net to make it 1-1.
Two minutes later, Victor Garcia's clearance found replacement David Ezeigbo on the right wing. After beating the defence his cross to the far post was met by Josh Lowe whose left footed shot made it 2-1 for City.
University Press fought to get back into the game but the City defence held firm and in the 87th minute it was James Brown's clearance found David Ezeigbo on the wing and, after beating the defence, he crossed for Harry Farrow to score his second, and City's third goal.
