EVO-STIK South - East Division: Aylesbury Utd 1 Cambridge City 6

Following a mini goal drought, City’s Ryan Sharman was amongst the goals once more as he claimed a hattrick in this afternoon’s demolition of Aylesbury.

City included both new signings, James Hall and Jordan Williams in the starting line-up as they looked to get back to winning ways following a slight stutter in form of late.

Hall, who netted 14 times in 23 appearances during his previous spell with the Lilywhites, quickly got back in the groove by scoring on his debut to give City the lead. His effort was added to by Ryan Sharman, giving City a solid two goal lead at half-time.

This lead was halved early in the second half when Aylesbury pulled a goal back. However, all this appeared to do was sting City into action and they proceeded to take the home side apart. Ten minutes from conceding, the two goal margin was back in place, Sharman netting his second of the game. Soon after and the hattrick was complete, putting City in full control.

Tom Knowles was the next to get in on the scoring when he cooly slotted the ball past the advancing keeper. The rout was completed by substitute, Jack Vasey who nipped onto the end of a deep cross to plant a header past the keeper.

Knowles almost made it seven in the final moments, but his effort crashed against the bar.
