Cambridge City Ladies 8 : 2 Moulton Ladies (1st QR Women's SSE FA Cup)

Cambridge City were in great form as they cruised through to the next round of this year’s FA Cup winning 8-2 against Moulton Ladies. On a fantastic playing surface at Trinity College, the hosts soon got the ball down and were playing some excellent football at a high tempo that the visitors were struggling to cope with. A few good chances came and went but it wasn’t long before the Lilywhites took the lead through Carla Penny with a clean strike just inside the penalty area. A second for Penny soon followed and it looked as though City would run away with it - but fair play to Moulton who scored with their first shot on target to reduce the arrears. City struck back quickly with Bella Simmons continuing her rich vein of form from last weekend and notched City’s third before Emily Reed smashed in shortly before halftime to make it 4-1 at the break.

A dominant display in the second half saw City score a further four goals with Simmons, Stacey Fullicks, Hayley Turner and Megan Tonks all getting on the scoresheet with Moulton hitting a consolation.

Good Luck

This coming Saturday sees all the girls teams starting their league fixtures. Good luck to you all. Most importantly though, enjoy and have fun!
