City stage late comeback at Norwich

Cambridge City staged a late comeback as they finished their pre-season programme with a 3-3 draw at Norwich United this evening. The match was a testimonial for former City player, Steve Shipley.

City looked to be heading for a defeat with 15 minutes of the contest left, but like Saturday a quick fire hat-trick was the order of the day, but this time the goals came from trialist Lewis Wilson.

It was Norwich who took the lead on the stroke of half time through Tim Henery, and two minutes after the interval Ben Lewis added the second.

Henery got his second and the third for Norwich just after the hour before the usual flurry of substitutions.

But then the stage was set for the Lewis Wilson show as the former St Neots striker scored on 75, 87 and 89 minutes to ensure that City came away with a share of the spoils.

All the focus is now on the season opener at home to Ashford Town (Middx) on Saturday afternoon.
