Match Preview: City v Stourbridge

Stourbridge are the visitors to Milton Road tomorrow and will be keen to do considerably better than their last visit when they were hammered 6-1 last January. That said, the Glassboys did get revenge in the return fixture with City losing out 3-1 just a week after their comfortable victory at Milton Road.

So what odds of a repeat resounding victory for the Lilywhites? Well surely it is too much to ask for a carbon copy of what happened last Saturday against Tiverton, but City are top of the league and come into the match unbeaten so far this season, and with 3 straight wins under their belts.

On paper, the games suggests a tough match against a Stourbridge side who have started the season impressively, and currently sit in a respectable 8th position in the league having won 3, drawn one and lost 2 of their opening 6 matches. Their biggest win coming against Swindon Supermarine when they came away with a 5-1 victory. On that day, Kyle Brady bagged a hat-trick for the Glassboys and with 5 goals so far from this campaign he is joint leading scorer in the league alongside City’s Craig Hammond. From that evidence Brady is definitely the man to stop if City are going to be successful tomorrow.

City boss Gary Roberts has no new injury worries ahead of the match. Which means that James Krause is likely to continue at left back after replacing Joey Abbs at half time on Monday. With the strike partnership of Kolodynski and Hammond starting to flourish, it means that new signing Ryan Wade is likely to start on the bench.

You can also have your say on the match by texting Radio Cambridgeshire after the full time whistle or phone them direct to take part in the post-match phone in. Full details on their Saturday Sport programme from 2:00pm on 96FM.

Don’t forget that tomorrow is non-league day, and the club are offering a promotion to anyone who has a valid Premiership or Championship season ticket. If you have one, then you can get in free tomorrow, so spread the word. If you don’t know of anyone who can take up this offer, then why not bring a mate along? Well all know the entertainment so far this season at Milton Road has been first class…so why not introduce them to the City Experience?

Kick off is at 3:00pm.
