Kershaw Senior League B: West Row Gunners 1 City Reserves 5
The reserves travelled to West Row hoping to keep their good start to the season going.
With holidays and injuries robbing manager Simon Youngs of six players it would be a real test to get anything at the early league leaders.
We started well and in the 13th minute we had the lead Neil O'Donohue releasing Ben Sawyer who beat the defender and rounded the keeper to square for GEORGE DARLING to score. Four minutes later Darling was up-ended on the edge of the box and O'DONOHUE curled a lovely left footer into the corner from a quickly taken free-kick.
With our pace up front, we were giving West Row plenty to think about. Callum Walter and Shaun Flack in the middle of the park were having a fierce battle with their counterparts, but more than holding their own.
In the 27th minute we were three up. A long ball by Tom Guy saw SAWYER get the better of the centre half and finished via a post from the edge of the box.
Although we were three up, the home side were still having a reasonable amount of possession and they were rewarded eight minutes before the break with their opening goal.

The first quarter of the 2nd half saw us under plenty of pressure, mainly from corners. Keeper Richard Brandon dealt with this well along with his defenders.
The game was put to bed in the 62nd minute when O'Donohue's cushioned pass found Sawyer and he threaded a delightful through ball for LIAM ROBINSON who finished under the advancing keeper.
Shortly after, Brett Wyman was replaced by James Howard and Luke Youngs went off for Alfa Balde. We still had time for a fifth five minutes before time with FLACK scoring with the help of a deflection.

Manager Simon Youngs commented "A really great performance today in not the best of conditions. I'm pleased for the lads as they worked so hard. They're still learning, but we are moving in the right direction. We have four or five back next week and that gives me a headache, but it's a nice headache to have. "
