Cambridge City face arguably the biggest test of their pre-season campaign so far when Luton Town visit Milton Road tomorrow night (Tuesday 20 July).

The Hatters who narrowly missed out on promotion from the Blue Square Premier last season will come to Cambridge on the back of a 1-0 victory over Bedford Town on Saturday, with the solitary goal coming from Danny Crow. It’s the beginning of a busy week for the visitors who also travel to Marlow on Thursday and end up with a trip to Alfreton on Saturday.

Gary Roberts meanwhile will run his eye over the City squad that recorded a 4-1 victory over Great Shelford on Saturday. This will mean a number of trialists including Joey Abbs and Declan O’Brien who both scored at the weekend will also feature in the match. Player of the year, James Krause is scheduled to feature after recovering from a knock he received at Newmarket last week, but Neil Midgley remains on the sidelines following a knee injury he sustained in the same game. The match will also see City goalkeeper, Zac Barrett renew acquaintances with his former club.

The club is urging its fans not to miss out tomorrow night as it is one of only two home friendlies City are playing before the campaign proper starts on 14 August. It will also give fans the perfect opportunity to take a look at new summer signings David Kolodynski and John Sands who will be playing for the first time on an immaculate Milton Road playing surface. The new Club Shop is scheduled to be open too and the Legends Bar will be operating its usual match day opening hours.

It should be an enjoyable occasion for everyone and kick-off at Milton Road tomorrow evening is 7:45pm.
