U12s show a solid performance

Cambridge City enjoyed a comfortable victory against a determined Chatteris team. City had to stay patient though as chance after chance went begging, when it looked sure they would score and the sides went in level at the break.

The deadlock was broken shortly into the second half when Carla Penny settled any nerves with a close range effort. Goal of the game came from Zoe Lander when her shot from distance flew over the keeper's head into the top corner and was just reward for City's attacking play. Saskia Capetti managed to prod home to make it three following a corner from the right and Lauren Tomlinson scored her first of the season when pushed up from her usual defensive position.

The Lilywhites stayed tight at the back throughout the match with solid perfromances from Lauren Ambrose and City's keeper Jade Drain.
