Under 10 Cup semi final; Histon Hornets 2 - Cambridge City 0

A superb semi final between two evenly matched teams was won by Histon with two goals within 30 seconds of each other in the second half.

Cambridge City had the better of the first half, showing strength in defence and good passing going forward. They had two really good chances to take the lead, both opportunities falling to Hannah Lagnado who shot just past the post on each occasion. Holly Northfield played well up front but took a knock on the ankle just before half time. 0-0 at half time.

The second half started well for City but Histon began to get more opportunities to go forward and they scored when the centre forward burst through from half way to score. Straight from the restart the same player tackled the City defender and scored again. City tried hard to put pressure on the Histon goal and won several corners but could not break through.

A great game, the City players were disappointed at the end but can be proud of their performance on the pitch. Back to League action next week.
