Cambridge City Girls 0 v Chatteris Town Girls 0

This was the third meeting of the season between these two equally matched teams, previously both had won one game each. This was going to be a good game and so it proved to be.

The first half was end to end but both defences held firm and there were few chances to score. In the second half the game opened up a bit and it was Cambridge City who had the best chances to take the lead. A long range shot from Hannah Lagnado hit the post and had to be gathered quickly by the keeper before Holly Northfield could pounce. With 10 minutes to go it was getting tense for both sets of parents on the touchline when Chatteris were through one on one with Amy Ozakpinar in the City goal, she stood her ground and saved well taking a knock on the arm. A few minutes later it was Holly Northfield through on goal, she sent the ball past the keeper but it hit the inside of the post and came back into the keepers hands before Holly could adjust her body to get a second strike. A strong all round performance from the City girls and a well deserved point.
