The City Girls drew 0-0 with Shropshire before brushing aside Nottinghamshire 2-0. Two 1-0 defeats of both Worcestershire and Lincolnshire saw them safely through to the final against West Bromwich Albion representing Birmingham. The City girls got the perfect start to the final when City’s Hannah Seymour-Shove scored a well taken goal in the opening minutes. City held on to their narrow lead until half time. The second half saw the West Brom girls put the City girls under tremendous pressure but the City defence held firm and Lola Boulter made the game safe when she added a second goal in the dying minutes. The final 2-0 score line was also a tribute to the City defence who went through their entire regional games without conceding a goal.
The Cambridge City Girls travel to the Walker Stadium Leicester on Sunday 17th May to contest the English National Final.
Their opponents will be:-
Manchester City representing Lancashire/Northern England
London Girls representing London/Southern England
