City's side face the camera

Cambridge City U14s Girls representing Cambridgeshire were beaten in their semi final by eventual champions Preston North End by three goals to nil.

GotM: Sarah Greening
Although PNE were the better team on the day and deserved winners they were flattered by the score line. The City girls twice hit the woodwork at crucial times in the game, but failed to score and then conceded two soft goals from set piece corners and one from a miss hit cross.

The City defence played brilliantly to deny PNE any scoring chances from open play and it came as no surprise when City full back Sarah Greening was awarded GotM by sponsors Tesco.

The City girls performed above all expectations to reach the National Final and although disappointed to lose they enjoyed the experience.
