Tesco Cup: U14 Girls through to English National Final

Cambridge City Girls representing Cambridgeshire qualified by winning the Central England Region which consisted of teams from Bedfordshire, Birmingham, Huntingdonshire, Leicestershire & Rutland, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire and Suffolk.

The City Girls beat Leicestershire 2-1 with goals from Jennifer Turner and Amber Gaylor, drew 1-1 with Northamptonshire thanks to another goal from Amber Gaylor, beat Huntingdonshire 4-0 with goals from Leigh-Anne Robe, Jennifer Turner and two from Hannah Lock, and beat Suffolk 1-0 with a goal from Leigh-Anne Robe to reach the final against Bedfordshire. The City girls produced an excellent display in the final winning 1-0 with Leigh-Anne Robe netting the winner. Further honours came to the City girls when Leigh-Anne Robe was voted “Best Forward” and Amber Gaylor was awarded “Player of the Tournament”.

City Squad: Kags Whitehead, Kayleigh Whitehead, Jade Gent, Robyn Phillips, Ellie Cullum, Sarah Greening, Ellis Broadwood-Smith, Chelsea Edmead, Chanice Stokes, Amber Gaylor, Melissa Wilson, Amy Foster, Hannah Lock, Jennifer Turner, and Leigh-Anne Robe.
