City started strongly and dominated the first half, Captain Sohia Piotrowska threatened the University goal in the opening minutes when she volleyed her shot just over the bar from 18 yards. Vic Lines was unlucky minutes later when her shot hit the post but shortly after that she put in a dangerous cross that was headed home from close range by Tash Collins. City continued to dominate the half with the strike pairing of Sophie Thompson and Vic Lines keeping the University Ladies pegged back in their own half. Just before the break Vic Lines delivered another great cross that saw Sophie Thompson produce a wonderful finish making it 2-0 at half time. The City defence of Jordan Holland, Hannah Goodchild and Nicola Geoghan gave City the foundation and confidence to push forward knowing that they could cope with anything that came their way.

City started the second half slowly allowing the University Ladies to apply some pressure that resulted in them scoring with a looping shot over the keeper making the score 2-1. This only served to spur on City and Tash Collins cut in from the left and curled a stunning right footed shot past the keeper from 18 yards. Tash Collins was unlucky not to get her hat-trick when a 20 yard shot hit the angle of post and cross bar. The play was quite open in the final quarter but City held on to win 3-1.

City's triumphant squad were, Sophia Piotrowska (capt), Jordan Holland, Emma Roberts, Liz Pamplin, Hannah Goodchild, Shona Kelly, Mel Findlater, Tafadzwa Mhundry, Nicola Geoghan, Tash Collins, Marthe Woll, Frida Rotrold, Katrin Schaechtle, Sophie Thompson, Vicky Lines.
