Battling City keep run going
Jan 28, 2012, 17:00
Hemel Hempstead 1 Cambridge City 2
City have claimed their 6th win from their last 7 league outings, but were made to battle hard for it. City took an early lead when Lee Clift rounded the keeper in the 7th minute. Hemel then had the better of things and drew level just before halftime when Dave Pearce scored from the penalty spot. The second half was scrappy and disjointed but City settled the match with ten minutes left when Craig Hammond volleyed home...

City suffer shoot-out exit
Jan 26, 2012, 10:23
Royston Town 1 Cambridge City 1 AET
City bowed out of the Cambs Invitation Cup last night following a penalty shoot-out. The Lilywhites fielded a side containing only three regular first teamers and Chances were at a premium throughout a rather scrappy affair. It took until minutes from the end of extra-time for a goal to appear when Royston went in front through former Lilywhite, Luke Robins. City levelled seconds from the end through sub Ollie Cox to force the shoot-out which the Crows won 8-7...

Last gasp goal denies City
Jan 21, 2012, 17:11
Chippenham Town 2 Cambridge City 2
City were seconds from claiming their 6th win on the bounce but a defensive error saw Dave Gilroy sweep home in the last of 7 injury time minutes. Earlier City had taken the lead with a Danny Kelly free-kick only to see Chippenham level moments before the break through Alan Griffin. Against the run of play, City went back in front when the home keeper gifted the ball to Jean-Phillipe Yamfam then had to go off injured and was replaced with centre-back Nathan Rudge. City couldn't take advantage and were punished at the death...

Hammond on song as Bashley are despatched
Jan 14, 2012, 17:39
Cambridge City 4 Bashley 0
The Lilywhites made short work of their visitors as Craig Hammond helped himself to a hattrick and Jamie Gould added another as City struck four times in just over 30 minutes. With the tie as good as over, the 2nd half never lived up to the 1st but Bashley did salvage a bit of pride with an improved showing although they never managed a shot on target. City for their part spurned a number of good chances to increase the margin of victory...

City back in hunt for play-off place
Jan 7, 2012, 17:06
Cirencester Town 0 Cambridge City 2
City made it four wins on the bounce after overcoming a determined home side on a difficult pitch. Despite having to survive some early pressure, City took the lead on 18 through Jamie Gould. The lead was doubled when Dave Theobald headed home Adie Cambridge's cross to put City in control and ulimately secure the points. The only downside for the Lilywhites was striker Craig Hammond being stretchered off with an ankle injury, Fortunately it is not thought to be as serious as first feared...

City made to work for the points
Jan 2, 2012, 17:00
Cambridge City 3 Arlesey Town 1
City made it nine points from the festive programme with this hard fought win. City took the lead through Danny Kelly but Arlesey fought back and deservedly levelled just before half time when they took advantage of a Theobald error. City played second fiddle in the second half but edged back in front when Theobald headed home. City made the game safe with two minutes to go when Yamfam slid the ball home from close range...

Quick strikes prove decisive
Dec 31, 2011, 15:47
Cambridge City 2 Oxford City 0
City claimed their second three point haul of the week as they eventually overcame the challenge of Oxford. Comfortably the better side in the first half, City had nothing to show for their efforts by half-time. Oxford had the better of things following the restart but failed to seriously trouble the City goal, while the Lilywhites, although having less of the ball, forced the visiting keeper into a number of fine saves. Just when it seemed neither side would break the deadlock, City struck twice in a three minute spell through Adie Cambridge and Craig Hammond. Oxford never recovered and although they rallied and hit the bar late on, the destiny of the points never looked in doubt...
