There is a potential for the main stadium to hold WEDDINGS and RECEPTIONS. The main room would be able to hold at least 150 guests accommodated on round tables with plenty of space for a dance floor and/or stage. It is noted there is no existing wedding venue within Sawston.
The intention is that the facility is multipurpose and that it can be used on non-match days for CONFERENCING and EVENTS. The primary rooms to be used will be the main bar/restaurant/conference room on the ground floor and the Hospitality Suite along with the two flexible conference rooms on the first floor. These will be supported by the boxes which will be used as breakout training rooms for delegates.
This would be a significant venue in the locality and could have a positive effect for local businesses. HotelRes, a local business who specialise in booking and organising conferences and events commented that the space proposed at the new stadium could be used by the local community and businesses alike and therefore would be a very positive addition to the village of Sawston.
